This is such a great time of year. I have the fondest of memories from Christmas seasons past. It was a time to see grandparents, aunts and uncles, and all my cousins. We would always be with the "Longs" on Christmas Eve and then a big Christmas lunch with all the "Furlows", my mother's family.
Now that I have my own family, we've started a tradition that began 10 years ago. After Christmas Eve service, we go to IHOP for "breakfast." This started when the only restaurant open on Christmas Eve was IHOP. We would have breakfast and then leave a large tip for our server because they couldn't be with their families that night. I love to see their expressions when they get it. It seems to make their evening every time!
This Christmas, we are blessed to be with all of my family in southern Colorado - my parents, my sisters and brother-in-laws, and all my nieces and nephews. Last Christmas, we went snowmobiling and this Christmas Eve, we are doing it again. I love it! We'll go sledding and I'm praying for lots of snow.
If you have a special Christmas tradition, I'd love to hear all about. Post your comments and Merry Christmas!
