About the “Grand Tour”

The “Grand Tour” was a form of educational travel that began in the late 1600’s. Young men and women with sufficient means undertook a prolonged period of travel throughout Europe for the purpose of learning from other cultures. A typical traveler would be a graduate of Oxford or Cambridge who was encouraged by his mentors to leave the walls of the university and experience the larger world. In effect, the purpose was to continue his or her education through cultural exchange, and then return home to serve their own community.

Global Action believes in learning, and we believe that the world God has created provides an amazing classroom experience. Our Grand Tour allows anyone, men and women, young and old, to travel to various parts of the world to learn about the world God has created. Our Grand Tour is especially designed for those who are interested in culture, history, religion, and Christian missions. We provide a classroom experience on location in various parts of the world for the purpose of learning. It’s better than a vacation. Those who travel with us spend time in the classroom learning from specialists in their areas, and then step outside to take in the sights and sounds of life in another world. Our tours are designed to change your life!

“The world is not in your books and maps; it’s out there.”
–J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit
