Invest in Prayer and Invitation to Join

On a May morning, amidst the constant Russian missile and drone attacks, about 30 pastors from different churches gathered in the heart of Kyiv for something special: a prayer breakfast hosted by Global Action. Despite the dangers — the air raid sirens, sleepless nights, and emotional weight of war — they showed up. Why?

Because the church in Ukraine knows that the call to equip leaders doesn’t stop during conflicts. In fact, it’s even more important.

Around tables filled with food and warm-hearted conversations, we had a blessed moment of unity, strength, and renewed purpose. Pastors from all sorts of traditions leaned in as we introduced the Foundations program, our competency-based theological training designed to equip local church leaders with biblical truth and practical ministry skills.

The response was clear: they were fully engaged, eager to hear how Foundations could help their churches. What really touched their hearts was our shared vision:

Every Leader Equipped. Every Church Empowered. Every Community Engaged.

The pastors were especially grateful to hear from Dr. Elizabeth Marvel, Global Action’s Chief Mission Officer, who spoke to them through video. She spoke clearly and passionately about Global Action’s mission and vision, as well as the heart of competency-based theological education and how it’s deeply rooted in the Foundations program.

We ended our time in united prayer, believing that Ukraine’s churches will not only survive but also come out stronger with equipped leaders, faithful churches, and transformed communities.
