Invest in Prayer for Latin America
Posted on December 19, 2025

For Global Action’s work in Latin America:
- In 2026, Foundations will start in three new states in Mexico. Pray the Lord will use our local coordinators to run and grow the program!
- Pray for God’s leading as we are looking for start another country in Central America for 2027, possibly restarting in Nicaragua.
For the Mexican church:
- Many are first-generation believers who need help to grow in their commitment and faith. Pray for godly church leaders, and for more pastors willing to work among the poor in rural or slum areas.
- Pray into and against the massive drug trade and gang violence that accompanies it. Drug trafficking is big business in Mexico – thanks to both the USA’s insatiable habit. Pray for courage and wisdom from government leaders in dealing with these great challenges. Pray for a way to reach out to the cartel leaders and members for an end to violence.
For the Guatemalan church:
- Praise God for the growth among evangelicals who now are almost 25% of the population, in 25,000 congregations! Pray that pastors and leaders will demonstrate Christ-like humility, and rise above foolish divisions and greed. (OperationWorld.org)
For the El Salvadorian church:
- Leadership for churches must be multiplied. The war, lack of finance and insufficient staff crippled what training was available. Pray for the Bible schools, seminaries…,” (OperationWorld.org) Praise God, this is exactly what Global Action faculty are accomplishing!
- El Salvador’s main struggles are now against poverty and gang violence…Nearly 23% of the country lives below the poverty line. Violent criminal gangs known as “maras” keep the nation among the global leaders for murder rates and juvenile delinquency. Overcoming these two giants will take more than just good social and economic policy – El Salvador needs a spiritual awakening that transforms the nation! (OperationWorld.org)
For the Costa Rican church:
- National ministries and missions are beginning to blossom as the Costa Rican Church matures and as foreign missions hand over control to nationals. These most often take shape as holistic ministries aimed at helping the poor, the sick, the broken and children at risk.
- Pastors survive on minimal incomes and have little help, so they struggle to provide consistent pastoral care. Christians often fall away in difficult times or move to different churches. Pray for effective and sustainable models of doing church and making disciples in Costa Rica. (OperationWorld.org)
For the Panamanian church:
- Pray for a government that will root out corruption, oppose wickedness, and uphold righteousness.Panama’s strategic location and socio-political stability also attract many other forces to the area. Much of Panama’s economy is in service to either these offshore banks or is used to launder money. In 2016, the leak of the Panama Papers exposed massive scales of international tax evasion and fraud facilitated through Panama-based services. Even more alarming is the fact that so little has been done about these revelations, either in Panama or abroad.
When you invest in prayer for our regions, you link arms in the Spirit of God with believers in Latin America to see His Kingdom come! Thank you!
