New Beginnings: Hellen Kajuju’s Story of Restoration

Born in Meru County, Kenya, Hellen Kajuju (center in image above) trusted Christ as a fifth grader. Her story is riddled with oppression and deep suffering. Suffering from life-threatening domestic violence and compounded by church corruption and community humiliation, Hellen carried a heavy load of despair. Yet she has overcome, and continued her pursuit of Christ and His purpose in her life.

“God has restored me in a mighty way. Today, through Foundations, I can see and understand who God is and how He works in those He loves. If not for God, I could have rotted in the grave. It’s only Him who made me shine again,” Hellen testifies.

Currently, Hellen serves in her local church’s discipleship department, mission department, and in her women’s group. She deeply dreams of planting a church in her home community with her theological skills.

“My desire is to further my theology studies and go back to my village because there is no true gospel there. Preachers preach what they want, not the will of God. I want to be a light to more girls and women in the society. My dream is to further my theology studies and go back to my village and start Christ-centered churches and true biblical teachings because many have been misled by false preachers.”
