Whole Life Dedication with New Theological Education

Pastor Bojorques trusted in Jesus at the age of 12 through his grandmother’s witness. He devoted his life to vocational ministry at the young age of 24 and has faithfully served in his community for 40 years, now alongside his wife and children.
Even with decades of pastoral experience, he was eager to start the Foundations course upon connecting with Global Action faculty in his area. He not only saw the need for theological equipping for himself, but also enthusiastically recruited other pastors from his community in Mexico to join him. Their cohort graduated in July of this year!
However, these church leaders’ dedication to their education was wrought with struggle.
“During a particularly difficult time [in this area of Mexico], when cartel violence had disrupted access to food and water, the Foundations of Faith course became a source of hope. Despite the dangers, Ramiro traveled to teach, and God protected him and the students. The presence of Global Action reminded local pastors that they were not alone—that God was with them and that people around the world were praying for their safety. Every class renewed their faith and strengthened their resolve,” reports Global Action faculty Lupi Pollo.
Overcoming danger was one dynamic, but incredible transformation also came even within the church itself through course materials. “One breakthrough was unity: before the course, many leaders were hesitant to connect with pastors from other denominations. After studying God’s Word together, they began to understand the importance of unity in the Body of Christ,” Lupi shares.
Now graduated, Pastor Bojorques is implementing his ministry plan. He dreams of seeing many more pastors in the area graduate from Foundations as well as his wife and children. He is planning and praying to purchase land in the area for planting a church that will also become a hub for Gospel spread.
His vision is to see more Foundations of Faith groups established so that pastors and leaders across Mexico can be equipped with the tools they need to lead effectively and proclaim the Gospel boldly!

Juan Pablo particularly enjoyed the courses on homiletics and hermeneutics, which gave him new tools to strengthen his teaching and preaching. The module “Healthy Church” was especially transformative, helping him and his classmates envision and build churches that are Christ-centered and spiritually strong.
