Hope for Abandoned Babies

It is my joy to serve with Global Action in Zimbabwe and to use my voice to speak up for those in need. Most of us may never know what it feels like to be abandoned and left alone with no one to love or care for you. Unfortunately, in Zimbabwe today, this is the fate of about 20% of children under the age of 18. While some of these are orphaned, the vast majority are simply abandoned.

Unemployment, hyper-inflation and other socio-economic issues in Zimbabwe have brought many people to live below the poverty line and as a result, they struggle to provide for their families. These struggles have been made far worse by the pandemic. So many newborn babies are being abandoned today that hospitals can’t even afford to buy the formula they need to survive.

But we can help! Global Action is partnering with a ministry in Harare, Zimbabwe to care for these babies by providing life-giving formula. What a privilege to come alongside local churches and believers in being a voice for the voiceless. Together we are living out James 1:27, which says: “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father, means looking after orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.”

I’m so glad to be part of an organization that is equipping leaders to show mercy to people in their time of need. Thank you to those of you who are giving! If you want to help babies in Africa in this desperate time and give them a future to look forward to, a gift of only $60 would provide the formula needed for two abandoned babies for an entire month! We invite you to show mercy and give today.

For the Kingdom,
