Out of Africa

At the beginning of this year, our president and I began having conversations about the need for equipping leaders in Africa. I learned that this is something that has been on his heart for a very long time – and it is something that I am really, really excited about. We believe that now is the time to expand our work in Africa, even as we labor to equip more leaders in Eastern Europe, South Asia, and Latin America. We have a global vision!

I am writing this from Africa, where I have been meeting with church leaders in Kenya and Zimbabwe. Global Action has been invited to begin training Maasai pastors, 99% of whom have never received theological training! We have been asked to equip more than 400 church leaders in Western Kenya (near Kisumu) by an African bishop who oversees more than 100 congregations! We have also been asked to begin a program in partnership with an evangelical Bible college in Harare that is trying to extend its reach to the 90 percent of pastors in Zimbabwe with no theological education.

Through the rest of November and December, we will be focusing our message on Africa Rising. We are praying for new monthly partner as well as one-time gifts to help us train more leaders in Africa and around the world. For those of you who are already on board, we want to help you learn more about how your resources are being used. For those of you who have not partnered with us yet, please prayerfully consider helping us say YES to the invitations to train more leaders around the world. To give now, please go to our website.

The doors are open — will you help us go through them?

For Our Team,

Dr. Lionel Young
Executive Vice President
