The New Global Mission

In 1900, more than 80 percent of the world’s Christians lived in North America and Western Europe. But in just a little more than one hundred years, the world has undergone a dramatic change. Today, more than two-thirds of the world’s Christians are from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Scholars who are studying this call it a dramatic shift to the “global South,” referring to the church south of the equator.

What this means is that missions is also changing – and Global Action is on the forefront of these cutting-edge changes. No longer is missions about sending “from the West to the rest.” It is now the global church working together to reach those who have never heard the gospel. In fact, more and more missionaries are now being sent out by the non-Western church (also known as the Majority Church).

Our role at Global Action is to equip leaders who are ready and able to go to places we could never go! Our program equips leaders with the “basic training” they need to go out and endure hardship as good soldiers of the cross. And it’s working. Thank you for supporting the work of Global Action: for helping us train leaders to change the world forever with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Get ready for some exciting news soon about where we are going next, and how you can help us stay in the cutting-edge of missions around the world!
