Trauma Workshops: The Multiplication Effect

trauma training 2

We’ve shared with you before about the workshops we have been holding in Ukraine to equip leaders with the specific tools they need for ministering to people in the midst of severe trauma. One of the things we are very excited about is that we are now entering a phase of multiplying these workshops through our own Ukrainian leaders!

Christian trauma professionals from the U.S. have been leading these workshops for us over the last year, pouring into our graduates who are serving soldiers on the front lines, refugees who have lost their homes, and hurting people who have lost loved ones to the violence of war.

These professionals have also been intentionally investing in seven of our graduates, who are strategically spread all throughout the country. These graduates are now preparing to lead trauma workshops of their own for other leaders in their regions. They want their fellow leaders to have access to the support and tools they need for this intense season of ministry. The impact is multiplying!

Pastor Volodymyr is one of these new trauma workshop facilitators. Since going through the training, he and his team have already used what they learned to equip an additional 90 church leaders to provide gospel-centered, trauma-informed care in the midst of war!

Thank you for supporting leaders like Volodymyr, so that they can be a blessing to the hurting people in their communities!

Kids’ Summer Camps

While trauma trainings allow local leaders to pastor through conflict, a generation is being raised up with war as the backdrop to their formational childhood years. We are  hopeful for efforts to stave off some moments of trauma by tending to this young generation in the midst of pain. This past summer, 360 children attended four summer camps throughout Ukraine. During each eight-day camp, children learned truth and hope from the Bible, sang worship songs, played games, and enjoyed the safety of friendship. What a haven of hope they have in Christ!
