Our Foundation

Faith at the Center of Our Mission

Global Action exists to glorify God by equipping church leaders to faithfully serve His Church and participate in His mission throughout the world.

Our ministry is rooted in the authority of Scripture, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. These beliefs guide our teaching, partnerships, leadership, organizational decisions, and service to the global Church.

We work alongside Christian leaders from many nations, cultures, and church traditions. While our ministry operates across different contexts, our foundation remains the same: the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe healthy churches begin with leaders who are faithfully grounded in Scripture, shaped by Christ, and equipped to make disciples.

Our History

A Vision That Has Spanned Generations

Global Action was founded in 1998 by Swedish evangelical leader Lars B. Dunberg. As a young boy, Lars attended an evangelistic crusade in Stockholm, Sweden, where he was deeply impacted by the music of Cliff Barrows and the preaching of Billy Graham.

Lars received his theological training at William Booth College in south London and was greatly influenced by the Salvation Army’s nondenominational ethos and passion for working with people living in poverty.

He later served as an evangelist with Youth for Christ in the 1960s and became the first president of the International Bible Society, widely known for the New International Version of the Bible.

Shaped by this vision, Global Action has remained committed to evangelical essentials, interdenominational cooperation, and proclaiming the Gospel throughout the world.

Over the years, Global Action has been involved in leadership development, disaster relief, church planting, medical missions, and care for orphans and widows. More than 9,000 pastors and ministry leaders have received theological education through Global Action.

Today, that vision continues with a focused commitment: equipping leaders in places where access to quality theological education is limited.

Statement of Faith

We Believe

These foundational convictions express the faith that guides Global Action and unites us with followers of Jesus throughout the world.

The Word of God

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

One God

We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church, and in His personal return in power and glory.

Salvation

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the person of the Holy Spirit, and by His indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to overcome the attacks of the Evil One, Satan.

The Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples of all nations, care for one another, equip believers for ministry, and bear faithful witness in every culture and community.

We believe developing faithful, biblically grounded, and spiritually formed leaders is essential to the health and mission of the Church.

What Shapes the Way We Work

Our theology is not simply something we affirm. It shapes how we train leaders, how we build partnerships, and how we serve the global Church.

Accessible

We believe theological education should be accessible to any person who has been called by God to serve the Church. Sound biblical training should not be available only to the privileged few.

We make training more accessible through module-based education that allows ministry leaders to study within their own countries while continuing to serve their churches.

Biblical

We believe the Bible is God’s Word and has the power to transform lives. Our students receive foundational theological education rooted in Scripture and centered on the Gospel.

We believe biblical grounding is essential for multiplying disciples, planting healthy churches, and protecting God’s people from unhealthy teaching.

Contextual

We believe God calls people from every tribe, nation, and language. We reject the idea that one culture is superior to another.

We work to ensure that the unchanging message of the Gospel is communicated faithfully within each culture and ministry context.

Why We Exist

Every Called Leader Deserves Access to Faithful Training

We believe God is already at work around the world, calling and using local leaders to shepherd churches, teach Scripture, make disciples, and serve their communities.

Too often, the barrier is not a lack of calling, faithfulness, or potential. It is a lack of access to biblical training.

Our Approach

Theological Education That Meets Leaders Where They Are

We believe rigorous and faithful theological education should be accessible to church leaders regardless of where they live, their financial resources, or their previous academic experience.

Non-formal theological education is structured, intentional, biblical, and serious while remaining flexible enough to serve leaders within their own ministry contexts.

It brings learning closer to the local church, allowing leaders to study in community, apply what they are learning, receive mentoring, and continue serving while they are being equipped.

We believe theological education should form the whole leader—deepening biblical knowledge, cultivating Christlike character, strengthening practical ministry skills, and preparing leaders to disciple and equip others.

Global Action comes alongside local churches, ministries, schools, and leaders through contextual, relational, reproducible, and primarily in-person training.

Our ministry exists to make the name of God great, never to elevate ourselves. Our ultimate aim is worship.

We are committed to the Great Commission by equipping church leaders to lead disciple-making churches. We seek to disciple the disciple-makers.

We hold to the authority of Scripture.

We value the Word of God as our final authority and the basis for all we do. We remain committed to biblically based evangelical theology while working alongside the larger Church.

We equip leaders to transform their communities.

We believe developing leaders is one of the best investments we can make. Healthy leaders can mobilize churches for evangelism, discipleship, and practical service.

We serve in places of greatest need.

We want abundant resources to flow toward areas of greatest need. We move toward people living in poverty, facing persecution, and serving in difficult places.

We make theological education accessible.

Theological education should not be limited to those who live in the Western world or can afford traditional post-secondary or graduate education.

We offer quality educational experiences.

We strive for excellence in what we teach and how we serve. Quality training blesses our students, strengthens the Church, and honors God.

We manage resources with integrity.

We are committed to faithful stewardship of every resource entrusted to Global Action for the purpose of training leaders and strengthening the Church.
