Pray For The Laborers

Join Global Action in praying for the leaders, students, ministry partners, and communities being reached through biblical training around the world.

Scripture
“The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few. Therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers for his harvest.”
Matthew 9:37–38

Jesus Christ first observed the problem of needing more laborers in His kingdom, but He also laid out a clear path forward: pray and ask!

Buhe Mativenga, Director of Africa, shares current prayer needs for Global Action work in her region.

Will you join us in Christ’s call to pray for these laborers?

Kenya

  • We have just started a new cohort in Iten. Please pray for growth and understanding for the students.
  • Pray for our ministry partners there, DIMI, that the Lord would continue to bless their ministries and all their other efforts.
  • They have many needs but are still sacrificing to equip leaders with this Foundations program. Pray that the Lord would strengthen and encourage them as they serve.

Uganda

  • Many students face challenges which can prevent them from coming to the classes sometimes. Pray that they will be able to continue in the face of these challenges.
  • Christianity is the predominant religion in Uganda, but there are also many false teachers who use people’s poverty to manipulate them.
  • We continue to pray for true shepherds to rise up more and more—leaders who faithfully teach the Word and care for God’s people.

South Sudan

  • As civil unrest continues around areas like Ulang, we have not been able to go back and finish the Foundations program with those students.
  • We continue to pray for an open door at some point to return and complete the program with those students.
  • Pray for peace, protection, and wisdom for the students and leaders as they wait for the opportunity to continue.

Middle East & North Africa

  • A specific country in this region is withheld for security reasons.
  • The war in the Middle East made it difficult to meet in person over the last few months.
  • However, they will be having their first in-person meeting in June. Some students will come from a neighboring country while others will follow online.
  • Pray for protection for the students and for wisdom and understanding as they begin the second module.
